The bi-partisan leaders of the House Highway & Transit Subcommittee – Representatives Sam Graves (R-MO) and Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) – are circulating a letter to the House Ways & Means Committee in support of making a permanent solution to the Highway Trust Fund a priority in any tax reform proposal. The letter states that “Congress must consider a range of options” to address the long-term trust fund shortfall, and “every possible solution should be on the table.” ACEC members are asked to contact their Representative today and urge them to sign on to the Graves-Norton letter. The goal is to demonstrate the need to begin coalescing around a solution now, rather than wait until the expiration of the FAST Act and the next trust fund shortfall.
